The Secrets of Garfield Gulch

by Marshall McClintock

Originally presented January 22, 2009 for the North Slope Historic District

This is the South side of N. J between N. 6th and N. 7th, approximately where the gulch crossed.

-612 N. J (just out of picture on right) was built in 1902 when none of the houses pictured here existed.

Buildings shown from right to left:

-610 N. J in 1923

-608 N. J in 1906. When built, 608’s lot included the lots of 602 and 610

-1001 N. 5th in 1986. It replaced 602 N. J, a large brick house from 1927 that had severe foundation problems.

-522 N. J in 1906
